March 2010 Newsletter

I’ve decided to transform February’s problems (see February Newsletter) into a new Reading Window experiment.  I’m offering a new 5-week program – just 25 times to travel to a lesson, in 5 weeks, instead of the usual 30 times in 6 weeks – but each lesson will be a full 60 minutes instead of the usual 50 minutes, and parents will be requested to follow up with at least 15 minutes daily reading with a reading-window (instead of the usual 10 minutes) at home. If you prefer our standard 6-week, $600, program instead of the new 5-week program at $800, the standard program is definitely still available.

As with most experiments, I’m expecting that I’ll need extra prep time and extra follow-up and notes.  This offer is limited to children in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade or 3rd grade.  As is true for all our RWSch experiments, this is fully guaranteed. The result will be at least 6 months advance in grade level in just 5 weeks, or I will continue with more lessons at no additional cost and refund the cost of your transportation. *

For more information and to register for either program phone Piper Martin at (540) 872-1999 or reach me at:       pi23read at yahoo.com

* Our usual 3-day full refund guarantee is, of course, still in place.  If after the first 3 sessions (consecutive days) the child, the parent, or the tutor would prefer not to continue, RWSch will immediately refund the full tuition. This guarantee is only valid if the 3 days are consecutive (for example: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; or Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; etc. If needed, I’m even open to Saturday or Sunday lessons.).

In just 6 weeks, children struggling with reading become happy, enthusiastic readers! Their skills improve at least 1/2 year's worth. Our tutors work one-to-one with a child, while also empowering a parent or guardian to help the child reach success. Each session consists of 30 hour-long lessons. Our methods build self-confidence and increase comprehension while we all have FUN! Need-based scholarships are now available through a grant from the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation.
