This is just a testimony of the remarkable job that Piper Martin has done in the past with the Reading Window program. As a member of the Library Foundation, I’m a strong supporter of using the library as a resource for the proper books of our youngsters. At present, this offers the only resource in this rural area.

Piper taught four year old Erick the ability to read. He is presently in the first grade but reading at a fourth grade level and accomplishing math at a second grade level. He is also enrolled in the University of Virginia Enrichment Saturday program and Odyssey of the Mind. He may even skip the second grade. Some of his favorite books are the Chronicles of Narnia and Charlotte’s Web. I contribute this to his early learning to read through the Reading Window program. The program was extremely successful and fun for Erick.
